From Enduring Puberty Press: Distraction Contra Diaspora

May 20, 2011

I will try to keep this blog updated at least twice a week, and probably more in the first month or so as I try to sell every single copy of my chap book that will be out in early June 3rd. I don’t belong to any literary community and I am not a part of any university creative writing or English Lit department –and I hate the fact that I feel so compelled to state that, as if it excuses the lack of professionalism. But let’s not kid ourselves, it’s a web *log*– and yet I am pretty elitist in my attitudes about poetry and fiction.

I intend to keep it fairly restricted to poetry, fiction, include reviews of many things that I am reading, but will take the occasional detours through my own personal preoccupations (e.g., contemporary popular culture, language, politics, relationships, neuroscience); Because I currently hold no illusion that many people outside of my network of “friends” will be reading this, I will include a link to a more personal blog. I was experimenting with trying to abstain from using the pronoun “I” while telling mostly about my experiences in Guatemala.
